Hi Nana... You have the prestigious honor of being the Very First Patient to contribute to the forums! Thank you.
I hope that your courage and energy will help set the tone for what promises to be a valuable venue for sharing thoughts, feelings and ideas about your experiences. Since you are familiarwith how these things work, maybe you can help others who are just getting started.
Remember that the "General Discussion" area is viewable by "Guests" as well as other patients... I would suggest that you go to the "Chemo" board and re-enter your question regarding tastes and salt. It makes for a great topic for discussion and on the "Chemo" board, it is just between you and other patients. Just a suggestion.
I'm proud of you for taking the plunge and getting things started.
All the best and God Bless
Bob

Hi everyone this is Nana and I just wanted to say hello and to wish everyone a beautiful day. Looking forward to hearing from everyone. I used to go to the chat rooms on the ACS Network, but it seemed everyone on there knows each other and I didn't get that warm, fuzzy from them. So now, we will have our own site, yeah Dr D.
A couple of us were talking in the chemo room about our "new" tastes since chemo. It is so funny, when I cook, I don't use a lot of salt but I CRAVE salty chips. Anybody like this. I hope I hear from you guys soon, have a great night |

Welcome to Patient Forums, I would like to invite all patients to participate in this form of communication. We are calling it "My Community". That is just what it is! A place were you all can go to help one another through a difficult time. I am hopeful it will take on a life of its own. It is essentially for the patients and by the patients who share a common problem. You may decide to use this to post your positive experience, or negative experience. Each time someone posts anything, positive or negative, I believe it may be helpful for patients in the future who may have a similar experience.
I will check in from time to time and occationaly put comments. Please note this is not a place to ask me or our staff questions about your care. We like to think we are available when you need us. Your visit or the phone is best for questions you need help with. Also this is not the complaint department, again please bring problems directly to us. Enjoy this! Use it as a tool to help yourself and to help others. PS No comments on my spelling. |

Hello from your friendly System Administrator...
I want to welcome you to these forums and encourage you to visit often. The purpose of this venue is to give you a place to voice your thoughts, concerns, ideas regarding you fight against cancer. And it's also a place you can show support for others, like yourself, who are battling against cancer. It is up to you (and the other members) to make this a meaningful and enjoyable part of your healing process. Don't hold back! Tell it like it is, and don't be afraid to ask tough questions... Other members will appreciate your candor and reciprocate in kind. If you are struggling now with the way this all works... BE PATIENT! (no pun intended) And use the help files by clicking on the "HELP" button in the banner at the top of this page (the help files included really do help). In no time, you'll be a Web Forum Master and able to navigate, post messages, add comments, poll other members and much more. Just take it one step at a time and use the features you need at first, then experiment and expand your use of features as you please. If you just get stuck and can't figure out what is going wrong, email me directly at rbwscott@cpiwo.com and I'll be glad to help you through the "learning curve". All the best and God Bless, Bob |
